A Stunning Italian-Inspired Wedding at the Broadmoor Hotel

In early June, we had the privilege of designing florals for a beautiful wedding weekend at the Broadmoor Hotel, where the spirit of Italy’s Lake Como infused every detail. This breathtaking celebration, set against the elegant backdrop of the Broadmoor, was an unforgettable experience for both the guests and our team.

The festivities began with an intimate rehearsal dinner on the Broadmoor’s Mountain View Terrace. As guests gathered, soft bistro lights cast a warm glow over the terrace, creating an enchanting ambiance. Long tables were adorned with floral arrangements that intertwined with candles, setting the perfect mood. At the heart of the terrace, a large fountain overflowed with cascading greenery and lush white blooms, serving as both a captivating focal point and a picturesque backdrop for guest photos.

The next day, the bride walked down the aisle in an exquisite lace dress, carrying a romantic bouquet of white peonies, ranunculus, garden roses, and delicate tweedia. Her bridesmaids, dressed in elegant sage-colored gowns, complemented her beautifully with their smaller, matching bouquets.

The ceremony took place on the Lakeside Terrace, a setting that captured the Italian-inspired theme with sophistication and charm. At the ends of the aisle, we designed two grand floral arches—one at the back and another framing the altar. Overflowing with lush greenery and white blooms, these arches created a dreamy setting for the couple to exchange vows. White planters filled with similar floral arrangements lined the aisle, guiding the bride’s way to her soon-to-be husband.

After a cocktail hour on the terrace, guests moved into the Lake Dining Room for the reception, greeted by a floral arch at the entrance. Inside, we arranged long tables that offered an intimate, family-style dining experience, reminiscent of a traditional Italian gathering. Each table was adorned with lush, overflowing arrangements of peonies, ranunculus, garden roses, sweet pea, and textural greenery. Gold candlesticks with taper candles added a touch of warmth and elegance, enhancing the candlelit ambiance.

The head table was a vision of sophistication, draped in green and white floral print linen and framed by chandeliers adorned with delicate white flowers. Each place setting featured custom embroidered green velvet bows, adding a personal and luxurious touch.

From the lush floral arrangements to the elegant decor and the romantic setting, this Lake Como-inspired wedding at the Broadmoor was a true celebration of love and beauty. Dual-Ceremony Wedding at The Broadmoor

There are weddings, and then there are celebrations so breathtaking they leave an everlasting mark on everyone involved. The wedding we recently had the pleasure of designing floral arrangements for at The Broadmoor, alongside the incredibly talented team at A Charming Fete from Ohio, was undoubtedly one of those unforgettable experiences.

Our couple began their day with a traditional Indian wedding ceremony set against the majestic backdrop of the Broadmoor’s west lawn. The Mandap, the focal point of this ceremony, was covered in cascading blooms of purples and blues with vivid touches of hot pink—perfectly complementing the bride’s vibrant Indian ceremony gown. The colorful florals infused the space with energy and joy, setting the tone for what was to be a day full of love, laughter, and beauty.

As the Indian ceremony came to a close, we were thrilled to help transform the west lawn into an entirely new space for the afternoon white-dress ceremony. For this second vow exchange, we created a lush floral arch adorned with radiant purple blooms that framed the couple perfectly. The aisle was lined with a stunning collection of purple florals, with whimsical pops of large allium adding a playful touch to the setting. These fun, spherical blooms brought a sense of joy and lightness to an otherwise elegant and classic design, reflecting the couple’s vibrant personalities.

The bridesmaids, dressed in lovely mauve floor-length dresses, carried bouquets in shades of purple and champagne. Their bouquets were filled with garden roses, ranunculus, tweedia, and delicate clematis, blending seamlessly into the overall aesthetic of the day. These bouquets provided a softer contrast against the bold colors of the earlier ceremony, creating a beautiful harmony between the two celebrations.

Once the couple exchanged vows again in the afternoon, guests gathered for cocktails and dinner on the stunning Broadmoor Mountain View Terrace. We wanted this space to feel fresh, whimsical, and intimate, so we draped the terrace’s iron chandeliers with cascading blooms of delphinium and wisteria in shades of blue and purple. These florals not only softened the space but brought a garden feel, giving the reception an airy and enchanting ambiance.

The long tables, covered in mauve shantung linens, were adorned with arrangements of blooms in purples and blues, accented by taper candles in soft shades of light blue and ivory. The soft flickering of candlelight added a romantic glow to the room, while the lush arrangements created an atmosphere of opulence and celebration. One of the most striking features was the Broadmoor’s large fireplace, which we topped with a bountiful floral arrangement in the wedding’s color palette, adding a touch of extra elegance and grandeur to the space.

As the evening unfolded, the couple and their guests danced the night away around the Broadmoor's iconic fountain, which we adorned with florals that cascaded down its sides, creating a stunning focal point for the evening’s celebrations. The flicker of lights, combined with the lush florals, transformed the terrace into a whimsical, romantic oasis.

Set in the snow-covered mountains of Colorado, Devil's Thumb Ranch provided the perfect backdrop for a winter wedding that can only be described as enchanting. On this snowy day, the air was filled with a crisp freshness, and the landscape was painted in pure white, setting the stage for a day that felt like it was plucked straight from a winter fairy tale.

The Bride’s Elegance and the Perfect Bouquet

The bride was a vision of timeless beauty, draped in a long-sleeve lace dress that perfectly matched the elegance of the snowy surroundings. Her bouquet was a lush, rounded arrangement of pristine white and creamy ivory flowers, subtly accented with greenery that added a touch of natural charm without detracting from the purity of the design. The simplicity of neutral blooms combined with the soft touch of foliage created a bouquet that was both classic and modern, perfectly complementing the bride’s sophisticated look.

Boutonnières and Flower Girls in Harmony

The groom and his groomsmen wore boutonnières that echoed the bride’s bouquet, with delicate white spray roses accented by sprigs of foliage. These small, yet impactful details tied the bridal party together beautifully. The flower girls, in their white dresses, wore halos of flowers that mirrored the bride's bouquet, creating a harmonious visual that was both innocent and elegant.

A Ceremony to Remember in the Broad Axe Barn

The ceremony took place in the Broad Axe Barn, a space that exudes rustic charm and warmth. We transformed the aisle into a pathway through a winter forest, lining it with oversized trees that reached towards the ceiling, their bases surrounded by soft candlelight. The flickering flames cast a warm glow on the snow outside, creating an intimate and serene atmosphere.

The bride and groom exchanged vows in front of the barn’s grand fireplace, which was adorned with a stunning arrangement of white florals and lush greenery. The fireplace, with its roaring fire, served as both a literal and figurative centerpiece, representing the warmth of their love on this cold, snowy day.

A Reception of Warmth and Romance in the High Lonesome Barn

Following the ceremony, guests were invited to the High Lonesome Barn for a reception that continued the theme of rustic elegance. The barn’s high ceilings and exposed beams provided the perfect canvas for us to drape greenery from the rafters, creating a canopy of natural beauty overhead.

The table layout featured all rectangular tables, each adorned with three arrangements of white florals, accented with greenery in antique-inspired pewter vases. The arrangements were intentionally kept low, allowing for conversation to flow freely across the tables, while still providing visual interest. Candles dotted the tables, adding a soft, romantic glow that made the entire space feel warm and inviting, despite the chill outside.

This winter wedding at Devil's Thumb Ranch was nothing short of magical. The snow-covered landscape, combined with the thoughtful floral designs and warm ambiance, created a day that the bride, groom, and their guests will cherish forever. Nestled against the breathtaking backdrop of the Rocky Mountains, The Broadmoor’s Cheyenne Lodge in Colorado Springs, CO, served as the perfect venue for a late summer/early fall wedding that was nothing short of magical. The warm hues of the season were reflected in the color scheme, with oranges, peaches, yellows, and tans setting the tone for a celebration of love and beauty.

A Stunning Ceremony with Mountain Views

The ceremony took place on the lodge’s patio, offering a stunning view of the majestic mountains. The focal point of the ceremony was an asymmetrical open-sided arch, meticulously adorned with lush greenery and flowers in shades of peach and orange. This floral masterpiece framed the couple beautifully as they exchanged their vows, with the natural beauty of the mountains enhancing the romance of the moment.

The bride was a vision of elegance, carrying a bouquet predominantly composed of white flowers, accented with striking orange blooms. The bouquet featured an exquisite mix of roses, garden roses, ranunculus, freesia, and scabiosa, creating a timeless and sophisticated look that complemented her radiant beauty.

An Intimate Dinner with a Unique Table Layout

The reception was truly a highlight, featuring a unique X-shaped table layout that fostered an intimate and friendly dining experience. This design choice ensured that all guests felt connected, as if they were at a cozy dinner among friends. The tables were lined with a mix of lush floral arrangements in terracotta bowls, showcasing blooms in ivory, peach, and orange. These arrangements were interspersed with potted herb plants, adding a touch of natural charm.

Adding to the romantic ambiance were candles displayed on wooden candle stands and votives in amber cups, casting a warm and inviting glow. Each place setting featured individual charcuterie boards, offering guests a delightful array of gourmet treats to enjoy throughout the evening.

The reception room was a masterpiece of romantic design. A large hutch was filled with hundreds of candles, creating a mesmerizing and romantic ambiance. The two large iron chandeliers in the room were transformed with cascading vines of greenery and adorned with rattan shades, adding a touch of rustic elegance to the space.

Every detail of this wedding, from the stunning ceremony arch to the intimate dinner setup and the beautifully transformed reception room, was a testament to the couple’s vision and the skilled craftsmanship of Layers of Lovely Floral Design. The long tables, on the other hand, were decorated with a mix of runner centerpieces and a collection of small and medium arrangements, adding variety and visual interest to the space. Taupe taper candles flickered softly, casting a romantic glow over the evening.

Dancing Under the Stars

After dinner, the celebration moved outside to a clear-top tent where guests danced the night away under the twinkling stars. The tent was a vision of elegance, featuring a large floral halo suspended above the dance floor, soft seating areas, and floral arrangements that tied the entire theme together beautifully.

The evening began with a cocktail hour on the terrace, where guests sipped on signature drinks while taking in the panoramic mountain views. As the sun set, the mountains were bathed in a warm, golden light, creating a magical backdrop for the evening's festivities. A giant installation of the word "LOVE," meticulously covered in white hydrangeas and orchids, provided a picturesque photo opportunity. Our team at Layers of Lovely Floral Design had the immense pleasure of creating a dreamlike floral ambiance for a beautiful summer wedding at the stunning Broadmoor Cheyenne Mountain Lodge. It was a picturesque day, filled with elegance, love, and breathtaking floral arrangements that perfectly complemented the natural beauty of the location.

The Bridal Party
The bride was the epitome of grace, carrying a bouquet that featured a romantic palette of white, ivory, blush, and peach seasonal blooms. We meticulously selected roses, garden roses, ranunculus, and peonies, accented with delicate greenery to create a lush and timeless bouquet. Her bridesmaids, dressed in elegant light blue gowns, carried complementary bouquets that harmonized beautifully with the bride’s arrangement, adding a cohesive and enchanting touch to the bridal party’s look.

Our little flower girls looked like they stepped out of a fairytale in their heirloom-inspired dresses of lace and linen, accentuated with floral crowns. They scattered rose petals along the aisle, creating a charming and whimsical path for the bride.

The arch was adorned with an abundance of lush florals in shades of white, ivory, and peach, intertwined with verdant greenery. This stunning floral installation set a romantic and enchanting stage for the ceremony. The aisle itself was a vision, covered in a heavy layer of rose petals, creating a fragrant and soft carpet for the bridal procession.

Cocktail Hour
Following the heartfelt ceremony, guests were treated to breathtaking mountain views during the cocktail hour. It was a perfect moment for everyone to relax, mingle, and take in the serene beauty of the surroundings.

The Broadmoor Cheyenne Mountain Lodge Reception
Inside the lodge, the reception hall was transformed into a floral wonderland. Round tables were draped in elegant ivory linens, accented with blue napkins that tied in the bridesmaids' dresses. Each table featured overflowing centerpieces filled with blooms in ivory, blush, and peach tones. We incorporated a variety of flowers, including roses, stock, garden roses, peonies, ranunculus, sweet pea, and other seasonal June flowers, creating a vibrant and fragrant setting for the celebration.

The bride and groom, along with their bridal party, were seated at a long table that served as the focal point of the reception. This table was lined with an array of flowers and elegant taper candles, enhancing the intimate and festive atmosphere. The floral arrangements cascaded gracefully along the table, making it a stunning centerpiece that drew the guests' admiration.

A Memorable Evening
This summer wedding at The Broadmoor Cheyenne Mountain Lodge was a perfect blend of natural beauty, elegant design, and heartfelt celebration. Classic White and Blue Broadmoor HOtel Wedding

As a wedding floral designer, every wedding I design is a unique story told through blooms and greenery. One of my favorite chapters this season was a stunning September Broadmoor Hotel Wedding in Colorado Springs. The setting, the colors, and the couple’s vision came together to create a timeless and classic celebration that I am thrilled to share with you.

A Picturesque Broadmoor Hotel Wedding Ceremony on the Lake Terrace

The day began on Broadmoor’s enchanting Lake Terrace, where the bride and groom exchanged their vows. Framed by four large urn arrangements overflowing with roses, garden roses, hydrangeas, and an abundance of lush greenery, the scene was set for a fairytale beginning. The urns stood as silent sentinels, their blooms cascading gracefully, capturing the elegance and romance of the moment.

The aisle was a pathway of dreams, lined with boxes of flowers that mirrored the beauty of the urn arrangements. At the back of the aisle, two more grand urns anchored the space, creating a harmonious and inviting entrance for the guests. The soft palette of white and ivory with accents champagne added a delicate and sophisticated touch, perfectly complementing the serene backdrop of the lake.

An Elegant Reception in the Lake Terrace Dining Room

Following the heartfelt ceremony, the celebration continued in the Broadmoor’s Lake Terrace Dining Room. The room was transformed into a floral wonderland, where every detail spoke of classic elegance and timeless beauty. The reception design featured alternating elevated and low centerpieces, each arrangement thoughtfully curated to create a cohesive and enchanting ambiance.

The elevated centerpieces and floral adorned chandeliers were true showstoppers, featuring tall, graceful arrangements that drew the eye upward and added a sense of grandeur to the room. These towering displays were balanced by the low centerpieces, which brought the beauty of the flowers to eye level, encouraging intimate conversations and adding a personal touch to each table.

The Sweetheart Table: A Floral Haven for Two

At the heart of the reception was the sweetheart table, where the newlyweds shared their first meal as husband and wife. This table was a floral haven, adorned with a lush garland of blooms and greenery that sprawled on the ground in front of the table, creating a romantic and enchanting focal point. The combination of roses, garden roses, hydrangeas, tweedia, and ranunculus in soft hues of white, ivory, blush, and blue, accented with champagne, echoed the day’s theme and added an extra layer of beauty to the couple’s special moment.

Reflecting on a Beautiful Day

Designing the floral arrangements for this classic and traditional Broadmoor Hotel wedding was a true joy. The elegance of the venue, combined with the couple’s vision and the timeless color palette, made for a truly unforgettable celebration. As a floral designer, moments like these remind me why I love what I do – bringing dreams to life through the beauty of flowers.
